If you are the beneficiary to an Estate or Trust and believe that the funds and assets in the estate have been misappropriated it is important to contact a trust attorney with fraud experience. Our firm is retained through your attorney, or can refer one to you. If you are unsure of asset misappropriation and would just like a review of the financial records please contact us for a consultation.

Conducting an Examination

  • Analysis of the Estate financial records and documents
  • Interviewing key witnesses and or personnel
  • Preparing an export report
  • If necessary – construction and or reconstruction of the accounting books and records

Conducting a Financial Review

In order to complete a financial review of your estate or trust we will need to insure that the trust agreement allows the beneficiary to request and conduct a third party review. The review of your trust accounting records will provide an overall analysis of the accuracy of the trusts assets and liabilities. We can also continue to provide monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual reviews to assure that the trust assets are safeguarded against misappropriation. As will any fraud risks, having a consistent financial review does not guarantee that fraud won’t occur, it does reduce the risks of embezzlement as well as lowering the duration of the fraud and loss amount.

  • Analysis of the Trust Agreement
  • Analysis of the accounting records (Electronic and physical)
  • If necessary – construction and or reconstruction of the accounting books and records
  • Preparing an Internal Review Report
